72/365: Bloomin’ Dogwood

I love that the Dogwood is the Virginia state tree and flower because I just adore them … especially in bloom!

I hope I get to take a picture of the pear trees planted up and down Riverside Drive sometime this week. For the shot in my head, I’d probably have to stand in the median, though — not too sure I’m ready to be that daring.

This Dogwood is outside Sacred Heart.

70/365: Cross-Campus Scenery

One of the large oaks beautifying my cold and windy cross-campus treks to and from the computer lab today.

Someone commented on the huge bird nests, but I knew (thanks to my Kevin) that they’re actually squirrels’ nests.

A Purple Sign of Spring

Leaving school today, I was so weary.

Snow-day makeups and a later-than-usual Spring Break have us trudging through day after day, week after week, with not a break in sight. Papers from the first semester are still piled up, awaiting the filing I never had time for, since they took back our post-exams workday. Yep, I’m out of paperclips. Yep, I’m out of space. Yep, I’m in need of some R&R.

And then the sun’s warmth enveloped me on the way across the parking lot.

And then, there in front of my car, was a beautiful surprise: purple flowers!

They’re probably weeds … or maybe clover, which may be weeds, too. I don’t know. I’ve never been that good at IDing the flora.

But they were so beautiful! The picture just doesn’t do them justice.

And I SO needed that.
