After two very successful open houses last week, we started school today on a positive note, as well. I want to greet and thank all of my new students and parents. 
It was a short summer, yes. (It felt even shorter for me and my family, since we moved in late June.) But, as I said in class today, we will all be so glad that we started early once the end of May comes around and we’re already out for the summer! All of my county friends have said this was the case for them last year, when they returned early on this schedule.
