English 9 classes (1st and 6th periods) started literature circles Friday by choosing their roles for the first reading. The reading, chapters 1-5 of To Kill a Mockingbird, and one job sheet are due on Monday, 9/20.
Everyone should have a Literature Circle: ALL JOBS sheet to refer to and one of the following specific job sheets to complete:
- Literature Circle: Connection Captain
- Literature Circle: Passage Master
- Literature Circle: Plot Premier
- Literature Circle: Question Commander
- Literature Circle: Summary Sultan
- Literature Circle: Word Warrior
I added two notes concerning the novel, one about the narrator and the other about the setting, to this week’s, but we won’t formally discuss either the novel or any of the six roles until Wednesday (after our practice SOL writing test).
