Perception vs. Reality: Dove Evolution

This is the “Dove Evolution” short film I showed on Friday. Our prompt for the day was “perception vs. reality,” and I think this video is perfect for it.

We so often mistake our perception for reality, when all too often our perception is only part of the overall reality. And sometimes our perception can be different from reality altogether.

If we saw the billboard at the end of the video, we wouldn’t think to question the reality of that girl. She looks real. And she is . . . sort of.

This is important in the stories we read, as well. We have to evaluate the narrator of the story before we decide whether to trust him or her. If the narrator is unreliable, we have to question his or her perception of the story’s reality.
