It’s the eve of our first day. Can you believe it???
Calendars: Both are three to a page.
A few notes:
- The class syllabus will come home Monday (for 9th-graders) and Tuesday (for 10th-graders). Please read and sign the Signature Sheet.
- Our school-wide SOL practice writing test, in which each student will write an essay from a prompt, will be next Monday and Tuesday, August 20 and 21. Please make every effort to be present those days.
- Our first actual test will be on Wednesday, August 22, on the SOL writing domains notes we will take and discuss (and hopefully utilize on our practice tests) this week.
- AD English 9 students will begin reading their first novel, Fahrenheit 451, this Tuesday. The first reading and vocabulary quiz will be on Tuesday, August 28. Study questions and answers are due this day.
- English 10 students will begin reading their first novel, The Color of Water, on Thursday, August 23. Quiz dates TBA.
